Puttin' On the GreenRegistration is now open for the 2012 Puttin’ on the Green event. This fun day will have you puttin’ to a happy ending for hundreds of South Metro families in need.

The 17th Annual Puttin’ on the Green will be on Saturday, May 12, 2012 at Colorado Journey. This unique fundraiser combines the fun game of mini-golf with helping others in their time of need. Teams of five people are asked to raise $1,000 to help low-income people get back on their feet (if each team member asks 10 people for a $20 donation, the goal is met). We start with breakfast, hold a silent auction, play 18 holes of miniature golf, eat lunch, give out door prizes and all participants leave with a wonderful goodie bag.

Four Fun Ways To Participate!

1. Become A Team Captain

Teams of five people are asked to raise $1,000 to help low-income people get back on their feet. That’s just $200 per team member. (If each team member asks 10 people for a $20 donation, you can easily meet your goal.)

2. Play As An Individual

Don’t have enough people or time to form your own team? Sign up and we’ll pair you up with four other fun players. It’s a great way to network with people in our community.

3. Donate Items For The Silent Auction

Our silent auction is a great way to show off your products and services. Your donations help us raise even more money to help families and children. Download a Silent Auction Donation Form here.

4. Become A Hole Sponsor

Individuals, businesses and organizations can help by sponsoring the 36 holes on the two courses.

Great news! We just found out today that during Western Welcome Week next month Big Papa’s BBQ is having a pig roast on August 20th from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. Our wonderful friends at Big Papa’s have picked Inter-Faith to be the beneficiary that evening. More details coming soon!

Thank you to the volunteers from Bethany Lutheran Church who did “Be the Blessing” this weekend. More than 50 non-profits in the metro area benefited from your day of service. We loved having you to Feed the Need food drives for us!

Sponsors are need for Inter-Faith’s Ready, Set, School Program! This program helps to fulfill IFCS’ desire to support children it serves through periods of difficulty. Teachers often relate the positive difference made by the program, saying that the school supplies and all the extras provide children with a solid foundation for learning.
In 2011, Ready, Set, School! hopes to serve 550 children within its service area. For these children, IFCS supports learning and promotes academic opportunity in a very basic way, for without the proper supplies, children cannot focus on their lessons.
We are soliciting sponsors who are willing to go shopping for a child. Sponsors receive information about their child, (kindergarten to 8), their sizes and what grade the child is going into. We ask for a new backpack, grade appropriate school supplies, a new outfit for the first day of school, new underwear, new socks, and a gift card for new shoes. Everything is put in the backpack and brought to IFCS from July 21 through 28, 2011. You pick a day and time that is good for you to deliver the items to IFCS. Backpacks will be distributed to children August 1 through 3, 2011.

If you would like to sponsor a child, please call 303.789.0501 or email mariap@ifcs.org. If you prefer, you can send a check and we will do the shopping for you.
